Galen is the secondary zone of the High Isle chapter, covering the third island of the Systres Archipelago. Where High Isle runs on Breton politics and tournament grounds, Galen is Druid territory — the Stonelore Circle operates here, and the island's interior is dense with ancient groves, standing stones, and the ruins of a culture that predates the Breton kingdoms. The adjacent volcanic island of Y'ffelon sits within the zone boundary. Galen is small by ESO zone standards, and its treasure map pool reflects that: two maps only, no Collector's Edition variants. The lack of a CE map is the meaningful distinction from most other zones in this family.
Where the value is
Three overland sets come out of Galen chests: Back-Alley Gourmand, Phoenix Moth Theurge, and Bastion of Draoife. With only two maps in the pool, individual map prices tend to run higher than zones with six-map pools and active CE scarcity — the supply ceiling is simply lower. Any of the three sets entering a competitive meta window tightens that ceiling further. Bastion of Draoife supports tank and defensive builds; Phoenix Moth Theurge covers magicka-proc territory; Back-Alley Gourmand draws from provisioning-adjacent sustain demand.
There is no CE scarcity premium here — but the standard pool is small enough that it doesn't need one.
How to get them
Maps drop from enemies, containers, and overland chests in the Galen and Y'ffelon zones. As a 2022 chapter zone, the map trade is active but thinner than base game zones — fewer players have farmed Galen as deeply, which keeps supply tighter than volume alone suggests.
Chest locations:
- Map I: Northwestern area — under large tree roots up an embankment
- Map II: Eastern cliff face — follow the rock formation to the stairs with the purple light, dig at the top of the hill south of the Soulrazer Knight Sentinel
