Glenumbra is the Daggerfall Covenant's western starting zone — coastal High Rock, running from the sea cliffs above Daggerfall inland through the dense forests of Daenia and into the fenlands around Hag Fen. The zone carries a consistent theme of old Breton bloodlines, Bloodthorn Cult activity, and the Wyrd covens that inhabit its wilder edges. It's one of ESO's original base game zones, with a well-established map trade and six treasure maps distributed across its varied terrain. A single Collector's Edition map adds the standard original-launch scarcity layer.

Where the value is

Three overland sets drop from Glenumbra chests: Bloodthorn's Touch, Hide of the Werewolf, and Wyrd Tree's Blessing. Hide of the Werewolf is the set that sustains baseline demand here — it's purpose-built for werewolf transformation builds, and while that playstyle is niche, its player base is committed. Werewolf builds don't cycle in and out of meta the way magicka damage builds do; demand is steadier and less sensitive to patch notes. Bloodthorn's Touch is a proc damage set that picks up volume when its damage type finds a competitive window. Wyrd Tree's Blessing serves healing and nature-themed builds and moves at lower but consistent volume.

The CE map carries the original 2014 supply ceiling with no farming path.

How to get them

Maps drop from enemies, containers, and overland chests throughout Glenumbra. As a base game starting zone, foot traffic is consistent and the map trade is reliable.

Chest locations:

  • Map I: South of Dourston Isle — small island between two rocks, behind the tree
  • Map II: South of Eagle's Brook Wayshrine, across the bridge, between the rocks on the left
  • Map III: At the exit of Lion Guard Redoubt camp, beside the rock cliff on the left
  • Map IV: From Aldcroft Wayshrine toward Mines of Khuras — cross to the small island facing the dungeon entrance, behind the large rock
  • Map V: South of Farwatch Wayshrine — follow the river upstream to the house, behind the large stump
  • Map VI: West of Lion Guard Redoubt Wayshrine toward Balefire Island, near the rock cliffs beside the shipwreck
  • CE Map: South of Hag Fen Wayshrine, near the tower under the gargoyle statue
