Shadowfen is the Ebonheart Pact's Argonian zone, covering the wetlands of northern Black Marsh — dense swamp, Hist groves, and the winding waterways of Argonian territory. It's one of ESO's original base game zones and carries the visual identity of Black Marsh consistently: flooded terrain, enormous trees, and the architectural remains of both Argonian and Imperial settlement. Six treasure maps are distributed across the zone alongside a single original-launch CE map.
Where the value is
Three overland sets drop from Shadowfen chests: Robes of the Hist, Swamp Raider, and Hatchling's Shell. Robes of the Hist is the set that sustains baseline demand — a magicka-oriented set with Hist-thematic bonuses that draws from healer and magicka support builds. It trades consistently rather than in meta-spike patterns. Swamp Raider serves stamina damage builds and picks up volume when its damage profile is competitive in PvP or niche PvE content. Hatchling's Shell is a defensive set with a health-oriented identity, moving more slowly and targeting tank players building for specific survival floors.
None of the three are the dominant demand anchors that Necropotence or Mother's Sorrow are in their respective zones, but the spread keeps the market active and the standard map trade reliable.
How to get them
Maps drop from enemies, containers, and overland chests across Shadowfen. As a base game zone, supply is consistent and all six maps trade regularly through guild traders.

- Map I: Northeast of Shadowscale Enclave Wayshrine, on the small island across from Telvanni Acquisition Camp
- Map II: Northeast of Forsaken Hamlet Wayshrine toward Haynekhtnamet's Lair, beside the small camp
- Map III: North of Percolating Mire Wayshrine, at the base of a large tree
- Map IV: West of Alten Corimont Wayshrine, behind the ruined stone sculpture near the main road
- Map V: North of Percolating Mire Wayshrine, at the base of a large tree (separate location from Map III)
- Map VI: South of Bogmother Wayshrine toward Ten-Maur-Wolk, beside the large tree near the main road
- CE Map: South of Venomous Fens Wayshrine, northwest of White Rose Prison
